It’s also a lot more convenient doing the housework compared to a century ago as we can now plug in appliances and let them do all the hard work. But did you know that there has recently been a big revolution in the sports world? Even though the games and matches themselves haven’t changed so much and players still play to traditional rules, everything associated with them is now completely different. Here are some really surprising ways the world of sport has changed over the past decade or so.

Technology has revolutionized so much of our life. Work and office life is now a whole lot easier thanks to various devices and the Internet.

Watching Sports

Before the TV set was invented, sports fans had to buy a ticket to go and watch any match or game in person. Once the majority of people had TVs in their home, only certain sports were shown on the channels. However, that has all changed as there are now dedicated sports channels that aim to show most matches. There are even some channels that specialize in very niche sports! So, no matter what you are into, you will certainly be able to watch the latest game or race in the comfort of your own home. Don’t worry if you are out when it is on - you can always use a TV recorder to tape it for later!

The Fan Community

Now that everyone is online, lots of dedicated sporting websites have popped up. And most of these websites now have message boards where fans can meet and chat about all the latest goings on in the sporting world. So, now they aren’t just restricted to meeting fans at stadiums. They can chat to others with similar interests who are located on the other side of the earth!

Sports Betting

Lots of sports fans love to place a bet on their favorite teams. In years gone by, they would have had to go to their local betting shop to make their bet. But now, the likes of Odds Shark and other betting websites allow them to have a flutter from the comfort of their own home. Most of these betting websites now have apps as well, so fans can bet on the go. Plus, this has the added incentive that the money will be taken directly out of their bank account, so they don’t have to worry if they don’t have any cash on them.

Playing Sports Computer Games

To be a true fan just a few years ago, you would have to play a particular sport as a hobby. But that’s not necessary anymore as many real fans are ditching hours on the sports field for an hour or so playing sports games on their games console. Lots of games now offer an immersive gaming style, especially when it comes to 3D games. You can feel like you are running around a stadium while you’re in a comfy armchair!

But this begs the question - where will sports go from here?[right-post]
